Q & A with Kimberley Jasper

How did you become a writer?
Writing is just something that I have always been able to do.  I have been writing since I was a Sophmore in HS

What are you hoping readers take from your book?
I would like for them to identify with the characters and think twice the next time non-sense begins to rule their lives.  I really love to create dialogue...everybody can identify with one thing or another in this book and it opens up discussion for the "taboo".

If you were to write a book about a controversial topic, what would it be?
Domestic violence and the real damage it causes beyond the physical.

Are you an avid or occasional reader?
If so, what is your favorite genre of books? I'm an avid reader.  I read everything, but my favorite genre would be fiction.  Thrillers, mysteries, urban, erotica...I just love fiction.

If you could interview one of your favorite authors, who would it be? Why?
Electa Rome Parks.  I would love to pick her brain about her journey from self-published to being published by a major publishing company and any tips she may have for those of us starting out.

If you could make a movie out of one of your books, which one would it be?
This first one, What Hatred Breeds.  I would love to see how it translates on screen, I already have the actors/actresses picked out!

Which marketing/promotions or publicity strategy has worked best in your favor?
I just started out, but networking and social media has been a big help.

Which do you like better traditional or self-publishing? Why?
I find that self-publishing gives me more creative-control.  I have a friend under a big publishing company and they are constantly chopping up her book...she hates it.

What new projects are you working on?
I have a three-book urban (erotica) fiction series coming titled, the Chronicles of Epiphany Jones.  The first volume is already complete.
